The Position

2026/2027 Lawrence North High School Intern - RDS R&D DC Development Network

Internship Snapshot

Wage: $12 /hour

Location: 9115 Hague Rd. Indianapolis, IN 46256 

Schedule:

  • Hours of operation: Approximately 10 hours per week.

  • Preferred days for internship to come in for work: Alternating days Monday-Friday, according to school schedule.

  • Preferred working hours for apprentices: Part Time.

Department Summary

Join the Lawrence North high school internship for a hands-on, part-time opportunity where you will experience diverse functional areas such as: Chemistry, Requirements Engineering, System Integration & Testing, Device & Software Investigative Unit, and Human Factors. This program is designed to build your professional foundation by contributing to real-world projects, offering insights into business operations, and fostering crucial soft skills like communication, time management, and professional etiquette.

You will enhance your presentation and stakeholder management abilities through regular updates and collaborative work, culminating in a final presentation showcasing your achievements. 

This internship position is located in Indianapolis, on-site.  

The Opportunity

  • Develop skills to clearly outline and structure your project goals and objectives.

  • Cultivate self-direction and personal accountability while working autonomously.

  • Gain exposure to innovative tools, and industry-relevant software applications.

  • Develop the ability to engage with stakeholders and align deliverables with their expectations.

  • Acquire the skills necessary to prepare and deliver impactful presentations.

Program Highlights

  • Intensive 8 months, part-time (10 hours per week) paid internship.

  • Program start dates are in August 2026 and ends in April 2027.

  • Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

  • Work with some of the most talented people in the medical device industry.

Who You Are (Required) 

Required Education:

  • Must be a senior in high school with a STEM based academic focus.

Required Majors: Strong academic preparation in STEM-related disciplines.

Required Skills: 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative.

  • Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to manage time effectively.

  • Attentive to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a professional environment.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

  • Complements our culture and the standards that guide our daily behavior & decisions: Integrity, Courage, and Passion.

  • Strong academic preparation in STEM-related disciplines.

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. 

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indiana is $12 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
