POSITION SUMMARY:
The Associate Director, US Cardiovascular Health IT is a field‑based, customer‑facing role with department-level impact and responsibility for leading cross-functional health IT strategy execution across multiple regions. This role serves as a recognized internal expert in Electronic Health Records (EHR) and cardiovascular informatics, shaping and implementing sub-functional strategy to optimize digital care pathways for BMS Cardiovascular products.
The role sits at the intersection of clinical informatics, cardiovascular patient safety, and BMS commercial strategy, leading strategic initiatives that impact health systems, IDNs, and national-level digital health partnerships.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Engage with Health IT customers, including senior leaders within IDN, clinicians, informatics teams, IT leaders, EHR managers, and analysts, to support EHR patient safety related to BMS Cardiovascular products
Lead complex, multi‑site or enterprise‑level EHR initiatives with significant impact on cardiovascular care delivery nationally
Serve as the primary technical point of contact and internal expert for high‑priority health system accounts
Answer questions to support the safe and effective use of BMS Cardiovascular medicines within the EHR environment
Drive development of advanced digital solutions, guiding teams on complex EHR decision support design and risk-mitigation strategies
Develop and implement comprehensive, customer-specific plans as directed, focused on patient safety within the EHR
Own the strategic planning, prioritization, and execution of Health IT initiatives across multiple accounts, including resource allocation and alignment with departmental priorities
Partner cross-functionally with internal matrix partners and external stakeholders — including Sales, Marketing, Market Access, and Medical Affairs — to align Health Informatics initiatives with BMS's strategic business objectives
Lead cross functional team and data/informatics groups to ensure alignment and execution of Health IT strategy at scale
Influence sub-functional strategy by providing expert input into digital health and EHR-related business priorities
Identify and share Health IT insights with appropriate internal stakeholders across Marketing, Market Access, and Sales teams to inform strategy
Synthesize national-level digital health trends and deliver strategic recommendations that impact departmental and brand-level decision making
Monitor and communicate trends in healthcare IT, clinical informatics, and cardiovascular digital health to internal stakeholders
Anticipate emerging industry trends and guide departmental strategy to address risks, opportunities, and gaps within the digital cardiovascular landscape
Support population health and value-based care analytics that demonstrate the clinical and economic value of appropriate cardiovascular treatment for BMS medicines
Lead complex analytics and cross-system evaluations that inform market strategy and impact care models for cardiovascular therapies
Partner with Brand, Commercial, and Access teams to ensure patient identification tools, diagnostic coding (ICD-10), and EHR-based treatment pathways are aligned with BMS brand strategy
Oversee development and implementation of patient identification and EHR-based care pathway strategies, ensuring consistency and scalability across diverse health systems to support the safe and appropriate use of BMS products
Serve as a feedback loop between field accounts and internal BMS teams on Health IT barriers affecting cardiovascular product access and utilization
Own the escalation, prioritization and cross-functional resolution of complex Health IT barriers, influencing sub-functional strategy and organizational decision making
Support current and future Health IT, data, and innovation initiatives aligned with BMS Cardiovascular strategy, including pilot programs, exploratory collaborations, and enterprise priorities that may evolve over time, as directed by BMS leadership
Lead high-impact EHR-based pilots, innovation programs, and strategic partnerships in conjunction with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver department-level impact.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree required in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Informatics, Computer Science, Nursing, Pharmacy, or a related clinical/scientific field
Master's degree preferred (Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, MHA, MBA with healthcare focus, or clinical advanced degree)
Minimum 4–6 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following:
EHR implementation, build, optimization, or informatics (Epic, Cerner, Meditech strongly preferred)
Clinical informatics, pharmacy informatics, or nursing informatics within a health system
Health IT within a pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device commercial organization
Field-based health system engagement in a pharma/biotech role
Cardiovascular or specialty disease area experience strongly preferred (SPAF, HCM, heart failure, rare cardiac disease)
Experience working with IDNs, academic medical centers, or large multi-site health systems preferred
Prior experience working within or alongside a Contract Research Organization (CRO) or field service vendor transitioning into a pharma direct role a plus
Deep proficiency with EHR platforms: Epic, Cerner
Working knowledge of healthcare data standards: HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, SNOMED, LOINC
Understanding of clinical decision support (CDS) tools, order set design, and cardiovascular care pathway development
Familiarity with population health platforms and cardiovascular registries
Proficiency with data visualization and analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) preferred
Certifications preferred: Epic/Cerner certification, CAHIMS, or CPHIMS
25-50% travel within assigned geography (regional territory)
Must hold a valid driver's license and ability to travel overnight as required
Territory and target accounts defined by BMS leadership

Compensation Overview:
The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

Paid Time Off
US Exempt Employees: flexible time off (unlimited, with manager approval, 11 paid national holidays (not applicable to employees in Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico or Rayzebio employees)
Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico and Rayzebio Exempt, Non-Exempt, Hourly Employees: 160 hours annual paid vacation for new hires with manager approval, 11 national holidays, and 3 optional holidays
Based on eligibility*, additional time off for employees may include unlimited paid sick time, up to 2 paid volunteer days per year, summer hours flexibility, leaves of absence for medical, personal, parental, caregiver, bereavement, and military needs and an annual Global Shutdown between Christmas and New Years Day.
All global employees full and part-time who are actively employed at and paid directly by BMS at the end of the calendar year are eligible to take advantage of the Global Shutdown.
*Eligibility Disclosure: The summer hours program is for United States (U.S.) office-based employees due to the unique nature of their work. Summer hours are generally not available for field sales and manufacturing operations and may also be limited for the capability centers. Employees in remote-by-design or lab-based roles may be eligible for summer hours, depending on the nature of their work, and should discuss eligibility with their manager. Employees covered under a collective bargaining agreement should consult that document to determine if they are eligible. Contractors, leased workers and other service providers are not eligible to participate in the program.

BMS has an occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work. This structure includes site-essential, site-by-design, field-based and remote-by-design jobs. The occupancy type that you are assigned is determined by the nature and responsibilities of your role:
Site-essential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility. Site-by-design roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility.
