We are looking for an Automation Lead to join our team in Ballytivnan, Sligo. This is an exciting opportunity as the site continues to grow, and we progress projects to advance our plans to become a Factory of the Future.

The position reports to the Engineering Manager. As the Automation Lead, you will lead, supervise, coach and mentor a team of automation engineers. You will be responsible for providing technical leadership and control of all control system activities on our pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Ballytivnan.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead and control all control system activities in the pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.
• Supervise, lead and mentor a team of automation and control system professionals.
• Provide technical support to all control system related issues. Tasks include daily trouble shooting, optimisation, and documentation control.
• Lead control system validation activities during project start-up phase where applicable.
• Life cycle management of the onsite control systems, to GAMP-5 requirements.
• Project manage control system elements of continuous improvement projects. Collaborate closely with process engineers/ technical support chemists and other departments to deliver these continuous improvement projects.
• Project manage and develop future integrations of the control systems, with planned MIS and ERP systems.
• Manage departmental budget as delegated by the Engineering Manager.
• Adhere to and support all EHS & E standards, procedures, and policies.
• Front audits by HPRA/FDA or customers on Control Systems.
• Define proposals for long-term plans for control system maintenance and improvements for management.
