Who is BlueRock?
BlueRock Therapeutics LP is a clinical stage cell therapy harnessing the power of cell therapy to create a pipeline of new medicines for people suffering from neurological and ophthalmic diseases. Two of our novel investigational cell therapies, bemdaneprocel (BRT-DA01) for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease and OpCT-001 for the treatment of primary photoreceptor diseases are clinical stage programs. BlueRock was founded in 2016 as a joint venture of Versant Ventures and Leaps by Bayer. What Are We Doing?
Our foundational science harnesses the ability to create and then direct the differentiation of universal pluripotent stem cells into authentic, functional cells that can be used as allogeneic cellular therapies to treat a broad array of diseases. We can also further engineer these cells, enabling them to produce enzymes, antibodies, and other proteins for additional therapeutic benefit.

The IT Data Engineering Co‑Op plays a key role in supporting the development, enhancement, and maintenance of scientific data and knowledge systems that enable researchers to efficiently access and use high‑quality information. In this role, the co‑op will contribute to the buildout and continuous improvement of the cell bank knowledge base, partner on data workflows that interact with the Electronic Lab Notebook (Benchling ELN), and assist with foundational AWS‑based data engineering tasks.
This position offers hands-on engagement with real-world data infrastructure projects and provides exposure to modern data engineering tools, cloud platforms, and analytics practices. The co‑op will collaborate closely with experienced technical and scientific partners, data architects gaining practical insights and strengthening their emerging data engineering and data analytics skills set.
ResponsibilitiesContribute to the development, testing, and refinement of the cell bank knowledge base, including user‑facing query features and human‑in‑the‑loop data validation.Support data workflows connected to the Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN), enabling efficient data ingestion and retrieval for downstream analysis.Assist with foundational AWS data engineering tasks such as dataset preparation, pipeline setup, and cloud‑based storage maintenance. Apply emerging data engineering and analytical skills to real projects, gaining hands‑on experience with industry‑standard tools, platforms, and practices.Qualifications & RequirementsPassionate about leveraging technology to solve and automate real‑world problems, particularly in the life sciences. Curious about emerging technologies and eager to challenge the status quo. Strong computer science foundation with solid programming skills, including experience with Python.Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate and influence across multiple functions.
