Purpose
This position reports into the Office of Ethics and Compliance (OEC) function through supporting the execution of an effective compliance program for the PR Affiliate. Responsible for the Affiliate execution of the annual monitoring plan by conducting internal monitoring and other annual risk assessments of compliance related activities, including training. The purpose of this role is to aid in the design and execution of comprehensive annual monitoring plans to ensure that each functional area within the Affiliate operates within the policies, procedures and regulations set forth by the Company as well as applicable local, state and federal laws. This position shall ensure compliance with the most current federal regulations and laws pertinent to the Pharmaceutical industry while also contributing to strategic OEC initiatives by aligning with both US and global strategies, ensuring the organization adheres to compliance best practices.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain in depth knowledge and understanding of key compliance state and federal laws and regulations as well as corporate policies and procedures.
- Responsible for defining and executing the Global Risk Assessment process, ensuring seamless alignment with the local annual monitoring plan to improve effectiveness and responsiveness to emerging risks.
- Implement and maintain procedures for monitoring, planning, establishing scope, developing work plans, executing field work monitoring, and monitoring follow-up actions.
This role will review compliance with regulations and controls by examining and analyzing records, reports, operating practices, and documentation, recommending opportunities to strengthen the internal control structure and processes. - Responsible for monitoring, documenting and providing recommendations on the compliance of operations and procedures, internal policies, procedures, as well as applicable local, state and federal regulations. This role will prepare preliminary individual findings and recommendations as soon as practicable, based on assessment of materiality and risk, during the monitoring process as well as official monitoring reports.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive Affiliate Compliance Analytics to support organizational compliance objectives. Ensure compliance with regulations and controls by examining and analyzing records, reports, operating practices, and documentation, recommending opportunities to strengthen the internal control structure.
- Actively participate and provide support to cross-functional team in alignment with Business Units (BUs), assisting in achieving business goals while ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
Support the Annual planning processes for the Affiliate Business Units (including but not limited to external meetings engagements). - Actively engage with US and global strategies to contribute to strategic OEC initiatives, oversee Ethics & Compliance Week, and engage in meetings and workshops to ensure compliance best practices and drive continuous improvement.
- Responsible for implementing annual compliance campaigns targeting key risk areas to enhance awareness and foster ethical behavior within the organization.
Create robust local training programs to ensure thorough understanding and adherence to compliance requirements while promoting organizational integrity and ethical conduct. - Assist in the compliance-focused quarterly assessment of incentives and annual evaluation of awards, ensuring thorough adherence to compliance standards.
Supports external and internal audit processes by coordinating information requirements, as required and in coordination with the Compliance Director. - Work closely with US Abbvie Training Teams to develop and update annual training plans for the affiliate and leverage resources and opportunities, assuring required trainings are timely assigned and monitored.
Responsible to Manage Administration of LMS Training Platform for Commercial Business Areas. - Serves as the Business Led Compliance Monitoring (BLCM) Chair.
