The Data Governance Analyst at AbbVie plays a hands-on, critical role working closely with our Analytics and Technology teams to support internal stakeholders across Australia and New Zealand. This role is responsible for maintaining the integrity, quality, and governance of AbbVie ANZ's data assets, ensuring data is fit for purpose, compliant with applicable policies and regulations, and used effectively to drive business decisions. The role serves as a key liaison between internal teams and external data suppliers, and plays an active role in shaping how data is sourced, managed, and protected across the organisation.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proactively monitor data quality across all ANZ data sets, conducting regular health checks and quality audits, including maintaining and managing an issues register, tracking data quality problems through to resolution.
- Identify, flag, and triage data quality issues as new data drops are received, ensuring timely escalation and resolution.
- Analyse root causes of recurring data quality issues and make clear recommendations on how best to address them.
- Manage all ANZ metadata and data mapping files.
- Own and manage the relationships and communications with all third-party data providers (e.g. IQVIA, Cegedim, and other local suppliers), liaising regularly on data quality issues, discrepancies, and enhancements.
- Monitor supplier performance against agreed service levels and escalate issues where SLAs are not being met.
- Assist in drafting and reviewing commercial contract clauses with data suppliers, including provisions related to:
- Data quality standards
- Service level agreements (SLAs)
- Data scope and inclusions
- Refresh frequency
- Issue resolution processes
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of supplier agreements, data specifications, and quality benchmarks.
- Ensure all data sets, analytical outputs, and data handling practices are aligned with AbbVie's global and local data governance policies.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of local data governance processes, procedures, and standards documentation, including Identifying potential data compliance risks or policy gaps to relevant stakeholders.
- Manage user access controls across data platforms and analytical tools, including licence set-up, modifications, and deactivations.
- Conduct regular user access reviews to ensure appropriate permissions are maintained in line with current business needs.
- Manage user licence entitlements and renewals in coordination with vendors and the IT team.
- Monitor usage of analytical tools and data platforms across the ANZ organisation.
- Produce regular usage reports and statistics, providing insights into adoption, engagement, and opportunities to improve utilisation.
- Share best-practice trends in data use and provide guidance to internal teams on how to leverage data for day-to-day decision-making.
- Triage and manage service requests related to data tools and platforms.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate data workflows, reducing manual handling and improving data reliability and efficiency.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders across Commercial functions to understand their data needs and provide effective support.
- Support broader data literacy across the ANZ business by contributing to training, documentation, and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Report any adverse event within 24 hours as per AbbVie’s policies and procedures.
- Proactively participate in AbbVie’s WHS programs, adhere to policies and promote a safe work environment at all times.
- Adhere to AbbVie’s codes of conduct and compliance processes, including timely training and maintaining ethics and integrity.
- Other ad hoc duties such as administrative duties, as requested.
