The Demand Planning Manager will lead the demand planning function in operations for our global CPG business and liaise closely with the commercial and innovation teams to ensure the business can accurately plan revenue and manufacturing and logistics operations. This role translates sales signals into actionable demand plans and works with the end-to-end Supply Chain team to ensure finished goods inventory is purchased, positioned, and replenished effectively across eCommerce, Amazon, and future retail partners.
This role is responsible for designing and implementing the demand planning and S&OP processes from the ground up, including establishing forecasting cadences, planning assumptions, and cross-functional operating rhythms in an environment where formal processes are still being built.
The Demand Planning Manager will serve as the owner of the consensus demand plan, ensuring alignment across Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance.
This role works closely with the Commercial team, Inventory Manager, Operations Team, Supply Chain Team, and the CFO. While initially the role has no direct reports, it may be asked to manage a team in the future and must be fully engaged in supporting the executive suite as the business scales and evolves.
Requirements
Position Responsibilities:
Demand Forecasting & Planning
- Create and manage the end-to-end demand planning process for the entire global product suite.
- Build the initial demand planning framework, documentation, and governance, iterating as the business grows.
- Own SKU-level demand forecasts domestically and internationally across all sales channels, including DTC/eCommerce, Amazon, and wholesale or retail partners.
- Build demand planning models from scratch, including rolling monthly and weekly forecasts where operationally relevant.
- Establish forecast assumptions, version control, and scenario planning to support decision-making in a fast-changing environment.
- Transparently track and report planning performance metrics such as MAPE, Bias, Inventory Turnover, and Fill Rates.
- Incorporate historical sales, growth assumptions, promotions, seasonality, and new product launches into forecasts.
- Partner with eCommerce and Amazon teams domestically, as well as international teams and retail partners, to align channel-specific demand with projected warehouse volumes.
- Lead cross-functional demand alignment discussions to drive a single, agreed-upon consensus demand plan for each product.
- Support innovation post-launch forecast refinement and performance reviews.
Supply Chain Engagement
- Provide planning reports and insights to Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain as needed.
- Initiate and manage the S&OP process and cadence in partnership with Supply Chain and Finance, helping establish the company’s operating rhythm.
- Own S&OP meeting structure, inputs, outputs, decision tracking, and follow-through.
- Directly influence and guide long-range planning processes.
- Manage direct and indirect reports in alignment with Blueprint’s culture and values, as the team scales.
- Coordinate with the VP of Supply Chain on purchase order planning.
- Align lead-time assumptions and inbound timing with forecasted demand.
- Support inbound planning by aligning demand forecasts with production schedules, transit timelines, and warehouse capacity.
Basic Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in demand planning or related supply chain planning functions.
- Experience building or significantly redesigning planning processes in a startup or high-growth environment.
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience in demand forecasting and financial acumen.
- Proficiency in planning tools and a strong understanding of data structure and planning logic.
- Experience working with ERP systems (preferably NetSuite) in support of demand and supply planning.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with comfort working cross-functionally and with senior leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in CPG, supplements, food, or eCommerce environments.
- Familiarity with DTC and Amazon demand signals and marketplace dynamics.
- Experience supporting wholesale or retail partners.
- Exposure to international supply chains and global sourcing.
- Comfort operating in a fast-moving, evolving environment.
