Job Description

At Roche you can show up as yourself, embraced for the unique qualities you bring. Our culture encourages personal expression, open dialogue, and genuine connections,  where you are valued, accepted and respected for who you are, allowing you to thrive both personally and professionally. This is how we aim to prevent, stop and cure diseases and ensure everyone has access to healthcare today and for generations to come. Join Roche, where every voice matters.

The Position

Are you a Scientist with a passion for regulatory strategy? Or a Regulatory Expert who loves the technical details of product stewardship? As a Environmental Regulatory Compliance Manager , you will lead the implementation of evolving product environmental and sustainability regulations (such as REACH, Biocides, PFAS, and more).

Your mission is to ensure that Roche Diagnostics products are globally compliant and managed with excellence. You won’t just follow rules; you will define what compliance looks like for our specific portfolio, "future-proofing" our products and ensuring the organization is always ready for audits and regulatory authorities.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Detailed Regulatory Assessment: Oversee the technical evaluation of new regulations. You will provide clear, auditable interpretations and rationales, identifying risks early and designing effective mitigation strategies.

  • Strategic Compliance Roadmap: Stay ahead of the curve by identifying upcoming regulatory trends and defining long-term strategies to protect the Roche portfolio.

  • Program Management & Prioritization: Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously. You will ensure priorities are set effectively to implement regulations efficiently across the organization.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the internal Point of Contact (POC) and expert for Senior Leaders and cross-functional teams, translating complex legal texts into actionable business insights.

  • Standardization & Frameworks: Lead the harmonization of our assessment processes, creating a repeatable and adaptable framework for the entire Diagnostics division.

  • KPIs & Reporting: Maintain a clear overview of compliance status per regulation, reporting progress and milestones to ensure full transparency.

Who You Are

We are looking for an analytical thinker who can bridge the gap between technical product data and legal requirements.

  • The Scientist-turned-Regulator: You have solid experience in Product Stewardship or Product Environmental Regulations.

  • Analytical Mindset: You can quickly evaluate business impact by applying legal texts to technical data. Experience in implementing complex environmental requirements is key.

  • Effective Communicator: You have the unique ability to explain the "why" behind a regulation to both a lab scientist and a business executive.

  • Collaborative Leader: You excel in matrixed organizations, creating high-performing project teams and making data-driven decisions that you can communicate effectively.

  • Technical Skills & Languages: Fluent in English. Knowledge of SAP EHS/EHS-M and experience in Project Management (both Waterfall and Agile) are highly valued. Familiarity with risk assessment and portfolio knowledge will give you a great advantage.

What is here for You?

  • A Purpose-Driven Role: Directly contribute to Roche's commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

  • Strategic Influence: A position where your interpretations and decisions shape the future of our product portfolio.

  • Dynamic Environment: Work at the intersection of science, law, and business in a highly professional and collaborative setting.

  • Growth & Innovation: Join a company that encourages you to build frameworks from scratch and standardize global processes, offering a platform for professional excellence.
