Position: Manager – Medical and Scientific Affairs
Location: Mumbai.
The Opportunity
In this role, you will be responsible for planning and implementing Medical Activities that drive scientific engagements for Roche’s Diagnostics India's Infectious Disease Solutions in Molecular Diagnostics including blood safety solutions and Immunoassays in the Core Laboratory. You will develop and execute medical strategies, manage scientific requirements throughout the full lifecycle of assigned products, identify clinical opportunities, and ensure that medical activities align with Roche’s long-term strategic priorities.
Key Accountabilities
Define and implement the strategy for Medical Activities, ensuring it aligns with the overall organizational strategy. Contribute to annual and ongoing medical planning, including providing input on situational analyses.
Build up and develop strong database of ID (Clinicians and Lab) and blood transfusion experts in India and neighboring markets and foster relationship with KOLs (clinicians and Laboratory medicine experts
Setup, conduct and manage Advisory board meetings for infectious disease indications to gain insights and understand unmet medical/scientific needs, help defining effective strategy to drive growth in ID segment.
Build strategic partnerships with external experts such as physicians, laboratory medicine experts, and other key stakeholders.
Drive Health Care Professional (HCP) and Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement initiatives at advisory boards, scientific congresses, and Roche-initiated medical education programs.
Plan and execute evidence generation strategies for Infectious Disease Solutions and Manage Roche-sponsored and Investigator-Initiated Studies, and oversee publication activities.
Foster cross-functional collaboration by working alongside marketing, regulatory affairs, applications, market access, and sales teams.
Deliver credible, code-compliant medical presentations to HCPs, both proactively to disseminate scientific data and reactively in response to medical inquiries.
Ensure all medical interactions strictly adhere to compliance guidelines, company SOPs, local Codes of Practice, and regulations, always putting the patient at the center of actions.

Work closely with commercial, APAC, and global teams to find mutual value and collaboration opportunities.

Who You Are
You are a medical professional with relevant expertise in the Healthcare Industry or a related field.
Education: You hold a degree in medicine/microbiology—specifically an MD (Microbiology) or you are a life science graduate with a doctorate in microbiology.
Expertise in Virology & Infectious Diseases: You have core expertise in virology, bacteriology, and infectious diseases. You have specifically built experience in virology and infectious diseases, coupled with strong knowledge of the microbiology laboratory, assay portfolios, automation workflows, and emerging diagnostic trends.
Experience: You have built 3 to 5 years of laboratory working experience and have a good understanding of the medical affairs function. You also have experience working with clinicians, KOLs, and scientists, alongside documented records of HCP education and interactions.
You possess advanced communication, presentation, lecturing, and teaching skills, enabling you to facilitate high-level interactions with health stakeholders.
You have advanced interpersonal skills and can easily understand individual needs and motivations.
You are an organized, proactive, and dynamic individual capable of achieving goals with minimal to moderate supervision and direction
