We are seeking an innovative and highly driven Scientist to join our Personalized Health Care (PHCS) department. In this pivotal role, you will lead the charge in pre-clinical research and development, bridging the gap between cutting-edge scientific theory and tangible personalized medicine solutions. A core focus of this position will be leveraging and advancing emerging digital pathology technologies to drive biomarker discovery, disease understanding, and product innovation. You will serve as a scientific leader, an internal consultant, and a key voice.

The Opportunity:  

  • Responsible for initiating, directing and executing scientific research, development and manufacturing process strategies to support new and existing products. 

  • Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions, products and problems. 

  • Plans and executes laboratory research.

  • Maintains broad knowledge of state-of-the art principles and theories & makes contributions to scientific literature and conferences.

  • Serves as an in-house and outside consultant. May act as a spokesperson for corporate scientific affairs and advise top management. 

  • Participates in development of patent applications. Promotes and participates

  • in the professional development of scientists and laboratory facilities. ‘

  • Uses professional concepts to contribute to the development of product or process principles and to achieve objectives in creative and effective ways.

Who you are: 

  • You have 2 years with Ph.D. or 5 years with Masters Degree or 10 years with Bachelor's Degree

  • You have prior experience working with PHCS and digital Pathology

  • You have a proven ability to plan and execute complex laboratory research and apply diverse scientific principles to solve technical bottlenecks.

  • You have experience in directing manufacturing process strategies and supporting products from feasibility stages through to commercialization.

  • You are familiar with the patent application process and the ability to identify patentable inventions within research workflows.

  • You have a  strong track record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at international scientific conferences.

  • You have the ability to serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for internal teams and external partners.

  • You are comfortable advising top management on scientific affairs and acting as a corporate spokesperson.

  • You have experience in promoting professional development for junior scientists and overseeing the upgrading of laboratory facilities.

  • You have the ability to align scientific research with broader corporate goals and manufacturing strategies.


 

The expected salary range for this position is based on the primary location of Tucson, AZ Campus is:  96,600.00 -179,400.00.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
