Role Summary
You will ignite the commercial engine behind Novasign’s expansion – implementing and owning the full sales circle, shaping sales strategy, and laying the groundwork for a future sales team.
For this role, we are seeking an expert who can translate deep industry insights into actionable market opportunities. You will lead our sales strategy, refine our go-to-market (GTM) approach, and engage directly with customers to drive adoption of our ML-powered SaaS platform across bioprocessing, pharma, and adjacent verticals. You will navigate long-cycle, consultative B2B sales processes targeting R&D teams, innovation managers, and digitalization leaders in biotech and pharma.
This role starts as an individual contributor with the potential to grow into a leadership position as the team scales. The role is ideal for a BD/sales executive who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and is passionate about commercializing innovation that makes a real-world difference. You will directly report to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, refine, and execute a scalable Go-To-Market strategy for our SaaS platform.
- Identify new markets, customer segments, and growth partnerships across the biotech value chain.
- Build and manage a structured sales funnel – from qualified leads to conversion and post-sale engagement.
- Define and track key commercial KPIs; build clear management reports and dashboards.
- Collaborate closely with product and marketing teams to align customer feedback, roadmap, and messaging.
- Engage directly with biotech/pharma clients to pitch tailored solutions and close deals.
- Represent Novasign at industry events, roadshows, and partner meetings across Europe and globally.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Significant work experience or educational background in a bioprocess-related field (e.g. Biotech, Biochemistry, Bioengineering).
- 5+ years of experience in Business Development, Sales, or Strategic Commercial Roles.
- Familiarity with machine learning, data-driven platforms, or digital twin concepts.
- Demonstrated ability to build and execute a sales pipeline and GTM strategy from scratch.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience in CRM systems, KPI tracking, and reporting.
- Willingness to travel for clients, conferences, and business development opportunities.
- Strong Teamplayer to interact with CEO/CTO/CBO and Marketing
- Self-driven, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment. Able to handle high pressure, short timelines, and shifting priorities gracefully
- Independent and self-motivated.
- Fluent in English (spoken & written)
Desired Qualifications
- Proven success in digital products (SaaS sales) ideally in life sciences, biotech, or pharma.
- Ability to independently create high-quality management reports (e.g., for US-based stakeholders/executives).
- Deep familiarity with digital sales tools, touchpoint management, and persona-driven sales approaches.
- Knowledge of procurement mechanisms for digital products in the pharma/biotech sector
- German is a plus
