Position 

We are seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Senior Data Scientist, Biology to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Data Scientist, Biology, you will lead the analysis and interpretation of complex biological data, leveraging advanced computational techniques to drive critical insights for our biotech research and development initiatives. 

About You  

The ideal candidate for this role demonstrates proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or similar languages commonly used in biological data analysis. They have extensive experience in advanced statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualization techniques and have a proven track record of working with complex biological data sets, including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and more. Their strong familiarity with bioinformatics tools, databases, and resources for data integration and analysis, combined with excellent communication and collaboration skills, allows them to effectively work with interdisciplinary teams and convey technical findings. Their detail-oriented mindset and exceptional problem-solving skills enable them to analyze intricate biological data and contribute to the intersection of biology and technology through advanced data analysis methods.

What You’ll Do 

  • Lead and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to analyze and interpret diverse biological data sets, including genomics, proteomics, and multi-omics data.
  • Apply advanced statistical methods, machine learning, and data mining techniques to extract meaningful patterns and insights from complex biological data.
  • Design and implement computational models and algorithms to predict and uncover biological pathways, interactions, and phenomena.
  • Contribute to experimental design, generating high-quality data for analysis, modeling, and hypothesis testing.
  • Integrate and harmonize disparate data sources to provide comprehensive insights and support research projects.
  • Develop and optimize data analysis pipelines and workflows for efficient and reproducible data processing.
  • Communicate technical findings and insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in biological data analysis methods and technology trends to drive innovation.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, or a related field or a PhD without experience.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or similar languages commonly used in biological data analysis.
  • Extensive experience with advanced statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualization techniques.
  • Demonstrated expertise in analyzing and interpreting complex biological data sets, including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and more.
  • Strong familiarity with bioinformatics tools, databases, and resources for data integration and analysis.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective teamwork and technical communication.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with exceptional problem-solving skills in analyzing intricate biological data.
  • Dedication to contributing to the intersection of biology and technology through advanced data analysis.

The expected salary range for this role is $178,000 to $194,750 depending on skills, competency, and the market demand for your expertise.
