The Position

Senior Research Associate

The Opportunity
Responsible for conducting research, development and manufacturing laboratory experimentation and other scientific activities to support Ventana projects. Exercises technical expertise and discretion in the design, execution and interpretation of experiments that contribute to project strategies. Prepares technical reports, summaries, protocols and quantitative analyses. Presents and discusses results of experiments within department and project team. Maintains high level of professional expertise through familiarity with scientific literature and may participate in conferences and professional societies. Follows company policies and procedures for GMP, GLP, Design Control and others as appropriate. Maintains complete and accurate laboratory documentation and electronic files. May act as principal investigator in conducting own experiments.
 

• Independently design and execute bench experiments, utilizing advanced analysis to solve complex problems involving intangible variables.

• Maintaining rigorous records and technical reports while identifying opportunities for publications or patent filings.

• Lead cross-functional teams, supervise or train personnel, and manage laboratory operations to ensure efficiency.

• Proactively identifying work process enhancements, troubleshooting technical issues, and implementing corrective actions.

• Drive "Quality First Time" initiatives and contribute creative solutions within project teams to meet strategic goals.

Who You Are

• Bachelor's Degree in Science with 6 or more years of relevant experience OR

• Master's Degree with 1 or more years relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and expertise at providing feedback.

• Wide range of experimental techniques and skilled in their applications.

• Can Act independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.

• Capable with searching scientific literature to gain general and specific information.

• Skilled with use of word processing, spreadsheets, graphical and presentation.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Tucson, AZ is $69,700 - $129,400.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
