Job Description Summary

As Site HSE Head, you will play a pivotal leadership role at a critical moment, guiding the site through its RLT commercial phase while embedding a culture where people safety, environmental responsibility, and regulatory excellence go hand in hand. You will partner closely with site leadership, influence strategic decisions, and act as the trusted Health, Safety, and Environment voice for both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that global standards translate into real, local impact.


 

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead site-wide health, safety, and environmental compliance aligned with Novartis standards and local regulations.
  • Partner with site leadership to embed proactive HSE governance and a strong safety culture.
  • Own site risk management, incident reporting, escalation, and corrective and preventive action execution.
  • Lead root cause investigations and drive learning through timely sharing of lessons learned.
  • Develop HSE capabilities in line managers through coaching, guidance, and talent development.
  • Monitor regulatory trends and ensure timely implementation of applicable health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Drive environmental sustainability initiatives, including value-chain impact and supplier engagement.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience in health, safety, and environmental management within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental management systems and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people, influence senior stakeholders, and partner effectively across functions.
  • Solid experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and corrective and preventive action management.
  • Hands-on experience with environmental sustainability practices, including supplier and value-chain engagement.
  • Fluency in English with the ability to communicate clearly with global and local stakeholders.
