Job Purpose

You will lead Pakistan tax matters for GSK, ensuring timely tax compliance and helping shape tax strategy. You will work with local and global teams, external advisors, and business partners. Responsibilities:

• Own local tax compliance for Pakistan, including corporate income tax, withholding tax, sales tax and payroll-related taxes.

• Review and file tax returns and ensure all statutory compliances are completed on timely basis.

• Maintain excellent hygiene of tax Balance Sheet Reconciliations (BSRs) in accordance with GSK’s BSR policy.

• Lead tax audits and litigation management, including preparation of responses and coordination with tax advisors / Legal counsel.

• Build excellent relations and communication channels with stakeholders (internal and external) ensuring effective communication.

• Keep track of all changes on local legislation or business changes that could impact any of the taxes in scope and proactively communicate.

• Prepare and maintain transfer pricing documentation and global reporting requirements.

• Prepare budget commentary, highlighting changes impacting the industry and updating global tax on current / new tax developments

• Provide tax advisory to business teams and support operational tax matters.

• Coordinate with Internal / External auditors for smooth closing of tax audits in line with tax SOP and statutory tax disclosure and schedules

• Maintain compliance with GSK’s tax governance framework and internal controls.

• Provide guidance on tax implications on new business initiatives and regulatory changes.

• Ensure maintenance of tax risk registers and process improvements.



Education, Experience and Skills
• Professional qualification (CA, ACCA, or equivalent).
• 5 -10 years of relevant tax experience in Pakistan, including corporate tax and indirect tax.
• Strong knowledge of Pakistan tax law, tax filing processes and tax audit procedures.
• Proven experience managing tax compliance deadlines and tax accounting entries.
• Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Comfortable working with accounting systems and spreadsheet tools; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
• Experience working with multinational companies and coordinating with global tax teams.
• Experience managing relationships with external tax advisors and auditors.
• Strong stakeholder management and the ability to explain tax concepts simply.
• Demonstrated track record of driving process improvements and controls.
