The Associate Director Psychiatry Marketing External Engagement and RMM Team Lead reports to the Director of Promotional Medical Education, External Engagement and RMM team. The Associate Director leads the Regional Marketing Manager team, overseeing marketing initiatives across various geographic areas and ensuring alignment with the national marketing plans. The position requires deep knowledge of market drivers, competitive landscape, provider and stakeholder dynamics, and the ability to translate local business insights into actionable strategies for optimal brand performance. Responsibilities include building commercial relationships with External Experts, designing impactful promotional strategies, and managing cross-functional programs such as speaker events and external engagement activities. The role demands proactive problem solving, creative solution development, and strict adherence to AbbVie policies and regulatory standards.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for leading the Regional Marketing Manager (RMM) team who are allocated among specific geographical areas of the country. Must have a strong understanding of market drivers, competitive landscape, and provider dynamics.
- Supports the RMM team in translating local area business needs into local strategies and pull-through of the national strategy at the regional level. RMM team supports the field with resource maximization, local congress identification and support of innovative regional speaker programs.
- Provides in-depth insights based on assimilation of key stakeholder feedback; coaches and develops RMM team to enhance that skill set.
- Identifies, builds, and strengthens commercial relationships with External Experts (EEs) while supporting the RMM team to identify emerging experts and diversify the KOL base.
- Responsible for engagement with EEs and attendance at the key medical congresses. Supports identification and coordination of Commercial leadership engagements at key conferences.
- Develops and leads high-impact and innovative promotional medical education programs such as national broadcasts and regional specialty programs.
- Leads speaker program Annual Operating Plan and effectively tracks and manages speaker program budget, highly cross-functional workstreams across Compliance, Finance and Sales Leadership as well as the Promotional Medical Education vendor.
- Supports the home-office HCP team with identification and contracting of HCPs for consulting and ad boards; supports the execution of ad boards and steering committees; responsible for creating the Annual Consulting Plan.
- Contributes to the development of the annual strategic and tactical plans for promotional medical education and external engagement.
- Maintains understanding of disease and competitive marketplace.
- Operates in compliance with all AbbVie internal policies (ethics, environmental health and safety, financial, human resources, and general business policies) and applicable external regulatory requirements.
