Job Summary

The Data Steward is responsible for executing day-to-day data governance activities and ensuring high-quality, reliable data across enterprise systems. This role focuses on data quality management, master data maintenance, and data enrichment activities.

Education

Bachelor’s / Master’s in computer science/ Data Management/ IT/ Engineering

Responsibilities

• Data Quality Monitoring & Control:
  •  Perform scheduled data quality checks based on predefined rules and thresholds.
  • Monitor data quality dashboards and Investigate data discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and document findings.

• Data Enrichment & API Integration:
  • Execute data enrichment processes using internal tools and external APIs.
  • Perform validation checks on enriched data to ensure accuracy and alignment with standards.
• Maintain and improve Master Data Management:
  • Support the execution of master data processes in the MDM platform.
  • Identify duplicate records and data inconsistencies, and escalate improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in refining rules based on observed data patterns.
• Technical Issue Resolution:

• Perform routine reconciliation between systems (e.g., CRM, data lake, operational systems).
• Validate data consistency across upstream and downstream systems.

Required Technical Skills

MDM & Data Quality:

• Basic understanding of Master Data Management concepts (match/merge, survivorship rules).
• Familiarity with data quality dimensions and monitoring techniques.

Data Handling & Analysis

• SQL: Strong working knowledge for data validation and reconciliation.
• Python: Ability to write scripts for data validation, automation, and API consumption.
• Advanced Excel – understand and interpret the patterns

API & Integration

• Hands-on experience with REST APIs (calling APIs, parsing responses, handling errors).

Platforms (Preferred)

• Exposure to cloud data platforms such as Azure Data Lake and Databricks.
