The Real-World & Clinical Data Strategy team drives data excellence and analytics across Roche Product Development, helping unlock the value of clinical, operational and real-world data to accelerate better decisions and improved outcomes for patients.
Within this team, the Medical Data Hub (MDH) Squad enables trusted, reusable and accessible data across the product development lifecycle.
As a Data Steward, you will help ensure data is properly documented, governed and fit for secondary use, supporting transparency, consistency and scientific rigor across Roche’s development landscape. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of data governance, clinical development and innovation, helping build the foundations for future-ready, AI-enabled healthcare solutions.
You will:
Support trusted data ecosystems by helping develop tools and processes that enable real-world and secondary use of clinical trial data.
Contribute to platform excellence by supporting the Medical Data Hub to remain scalable, accessible and fit for purpose.
Enable data transparency and reuse through metadata standards, cataloguing, classification and stewardship activities.
Strengthen data quality by assisting with routine assessments across structured and unstructured datasets.
Build stewardship capability by contributing to knowledge sharing and helping embed good governance practices across teams.
Enable FAIR data practices by supporting traceability, accessibility and consistency across development data assets.
Collaborate across functions including Product Development, Research, Medical and Commercial teams with management of secondary use data.
Support compliance and trust by applying relevant privacy, security and regulatory expectations, including GDPR and HIPAA where appropriate.
Who you are
You are curious, collaborative and passionate about improving how data is managed and used to advance science and healthcare.
You have:
A degree, advanced qualification or equivalent practical background in Data Science, Bioinformatics, Life Sciences, Information Science, Information Management or a related discipline.
Experience working in data documentation, metadata, quality, governance or stewardship-related environments.
An understanding of clinical, operational or real-world data structures and foundational stewardship practices.
Familiarity with documentation tools, spreadsheets, cataloguing approaches or version control systems.
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to work independently and adapt in evolving environments.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to a broad range of stakeholders.
A collaborative and inclusive mindset, with respect for different perspectives in a global organisation.
Preferred
Exposure to healthcare data governance, data catalogues or classification systems.
Familiarity with FAIR data principles or regulatory documentation expectations.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality, consistent data practices.
