The Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) team within Sensor and Cartridge Operations ensures the efficient and high-quality production of electrochemical sensors and cartridges by bridging the gap between product development and full-scale manufacturing. 

The Opportunity

  • You will transform raw manufacturing data into actionable intelligence to ensure the world’s most reliable and rapid patient diagnostics

  • Your role involves applying Computer Vision methods for feature extraction on sensor surface scans to uncover deep insights

  • You will design and implement Machine Learning and Deep Learning Proof-of-Concepts to optimize complex production processes

  • Data-driven discovery guides your work as you use classical statistics and predictive modeling to uncover hidden patterns in imaging and process data

  • Collaboration and presentation are key as you share findings with multidisciplinary teams to directly influence process improvements

  • Your work focuses on cutting-edge AI projects within a highly regulated and high-stakes medical environment

Who You Are

  • You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor or  Master’s program, or have completed your degree within 12 months of the start date, preferably in a field of Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • You are a tech-enthusiast who enjoys seeing code come to life in physical products and has a genuine interest in how cutting-edge technology meets modern manufacturing.

  • You possess hands-on Machine Learning experience, having already applied models to real-world datasets beyond classroom exercises.

  • Technical proficiency in Python and its ecosystem, including OpenCV, PyTorch/TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, and Pandas, is essential for this role.

  • A strong foundation in statistical data analysis enables you to maintain a consistently analytical mindset.

  • Fluency in both English and German is required to collaborate effectively within our team environment.

  • Non-EU/Non-EFTA citizens must attach a confirmation from the university to the application documents, stating that a mandatory internship is part of the education and be continuously enrolled in their university for the whole duration of this internship.
