Job Description Summary

The Project Engineer & CAPEX Lead manages small to medium projects and or changes inside the organization by managing indirectly internal stakeholders from different functions and external vendors when required to comply with project timelines. 


 

Job Description

Major accountabilities:

  • Prepares, reviews and approves all project related documentation (drawings, lists, schedules, diagrams, layouts, calculations and datasheets).

  • Owns and contributes to the local CAPEX definition, reporting and advancement.

  • Acts as Local reference for Global Engineering technical projects and Global initiatives implementation.

  •  Discuss and align strategy of project stages with local and global stakeholders when required.

  •  Develops contractual strategy and framework to manage vendors / contractors and corresponding contracts.

  • Drives / improves the design of the equipment and related utilities/facilities to guarantee the highest standards of reliability, quality and safety.

  • Contributes to the definition and execution of the asset strategy and proper asset lifecycle management, including FMEA and Risk Assessment update.

  • Documents the proposed changes/implement project following GMP rules and masters the process of change controls , project changes. Has knowledge on the different stages of commissioning and qualification of utilities, building and equipment. 

  • Prepares and contribute to prepare ECARs, pCARs. Follow the Novartis SOP related to project.

  • Owns the Project management system and related business processes (SOPs, WPs).

Essential requirements:

  • Engineering Degree.

  • Extensive experience in a similar role within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.

  • Proven project management skills.

  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
