The Biologics Analytical group is responsible for programs that are transitioning from development stage to optimization and commercialization.  We lead final method development, optimization, and validation, ensuring all analytical methods are fit for use in commercial QC laboratories.  Key deliverables include product control strategies informed by analytical data and method understanding; robust analytical methods suitable for commercial QC labs; comprehensive data packages that drive product and process understanding; stability studies to establish commercial product dating; and approvable marketing application submission content.  This position will work primarily inside of the laboratory, providing testing support to meet Analytical Development’s deliverables for pipeline programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively function as an analytical scientist, generating original technical ideas and research or development strategies.
  • Independently design, execute and interpret critical experiments to answer scientific questions.
  • Understand the broad objectives of the project as well as their role in achieving those objectives, and modify experimental plan when required, to respond.
  • Learn, understand and master new experimental techniques, and act as a resource or mentor for others.
  • Innovate and implement new experimental protocols.
  • Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in his/her field.
  • Set and meet experimental timelines.
  • Effectively organize and present scientific plans and data.
  • Routinely read and apply relevant scientific literature, and contribute to writing and the conceptual framework of publications, presentations, and patents.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to independently design, execute and interpret critical experiments to answer scientific questions.
  • Practical experience and strong knowledge of protein HPLC (e.g., SEC, IEX, HIC), capillary electrophoresis, and other separation techniques as applied to protein analysis.
  • Maintain a laboratory notebook in compliance with Good Laboratory/Manufacturing Practices.
  • Demonstrate independent problem-solving ability in science and technical proficiency.
  • Ability to multitask and work within timelines.
  • Demonstrated scientific writing skills and strong verbal communication skills.
