Lead and run day-to-day Labware Technical Support and BAU operations for GSC Quality Control Labs, ensuring stable, compliant, and continuously improving static data changes, update or delivery of new analytical method analysis, and own incident, problem, release and change processes for our Labware installations; manage the strategic supplier DevOps relationship; and deliver against delivery OLAs and service SLAs, compliance and stakeholder expectations.
Key responsibilities
Labware BAU Delivery Operations (static data updates, analytical method updates, new analytical methods, product updates and additions, among other changes)
Own Labware service delivery (incident, problem, request fulfilment) and ensure SLA adherence for global manufacturing site QC labs.
Define and operate runbooks, support rotations, escalation paths and knowledge management.
Supplier & DevOps management
Manage the strategic supplier DevOps team: Demand management, capacity planning, sprint coordination, and performance metrics.
GxP and Compliance Readiness
Ensure delivery releases and support are aligned to GxP and internal compliance requirements.
Ensure Labware operations meet GxP data integrity and electronic records requirements (e.g., 21 CFR Part 11 / EMA Annex 11 where applicable).
Lead remediation actions from audits/inspections and maintain audit-ready artefacts.
Release, change & configuration management
Govern Labware BAU release pipeline, change approvals, release validation and rollback processes.
Ensure consistent configuration control and traceability across environments.
Continuous improvement & automation
Identify and deliver automation opportunities including AI/ML solutions for (monitoring, test automation, documentation, and operational runbooks) to reduce risk/time-to-resolution.
Stakeholder management & governance
Act as primary LES BAU delivery lead and liaise with GSC D&T Quality stakeholders, and central Quality QC Stakeholders.
Provide regular reporting to director, stakeholders and governance forums.
People & financial stewardship
Line-manage India GCC Labware staff; hire, coach and develop team members.
Own budget for BAU activities within delegated authority and track vendor spend.
Deliverables (first 6–12 months)
Stabilized BAU Delivery model meeting delivery OLA and support SLAs.
Refine DevOps delivery model with supplier, including automation improvements and release schedule.
Service dashboards: delivery metrics including backlog burndown, availability, incident metrics, change success rate and compliance status.
Roadmap for operational automation and 12-month continuous improvement plan.
Skills & experience (required)
Demonstrable experience running Labware Instances or similar regulated laboratory systems in a GxP environment.
Proven experience optimizing and leading complex delivery across multiple teams and global sites.
Strong vendor/supplier management experience, including managing off shore/strategic DevOps partners.
Deep operational experience: incident/problem/change/release management, ITIL practices.
Technical familiarity with LIMS architecture, databases (SQL), scripting, cloud-hosted environments tools.
Proven people-leadership skills and stakeholder management across technical and QA/QC teams.
Excellent written/verbal communication and experience presenting to senior stakeholders.
Qualifications & desirable certifications
Labware Admin 1 and Admin 2 certification
Degree in Life Sciences, Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent.
10+ years’ relevant experience with at least 3–5 years in leadership/management roles.
Desirable: ITIL, PMP/Prince2, DevOps certifications, and formal GxP/data integrity training.
