About the job

Elements is Sanofi’s global experience system—our source of truth for building consistent, accessible, and scalable digital experiences. Expanding from marketing-led capabilities to product and AI-driven solutions, it supports everything from internal tools to patient platforms. In this role, you’ll help shape and evolve Elements to meet the current needs of teams across Sanofi – with AI-embedded workflows and a more self-service adoption approach.

As Product Design Lead, you will act as the “Elements Experience Lead”, focused on practitioner experience. You will be accountable for delivering value to Elements users, spanning multiple accelerators and product hubs worldwide. This role demands deep expertise in user experience, design operations, accessibility, and human-centered design methodologies.

You will work hand in hand with the Design System Lead, driving the system’s vision, strategy, and evolution — its design language, architecture, and integration across design and code — the other focused on the experience around it: how practitioners discover, adopt, and succeed with Elements across design, AI workflows, and product operations. Together you refine and apply the governance that keeps Elements coherent, while your scope extends across the full experience system — from tooling and enablement to community and AI-embedded ways of working.

Success in your role resides in your ability to speed up product operations while unleashing and supporting product design innovation within the design community. Collaborating closely with Product teams, you will shape the practitioner experience to align with digital product objectives and long-term strategy, ensuring systematized, scalable, and seamless experiences across the Sanofi digital ecosystem.

As part of the Product Design Foundations team, you will play a key role in fostering a user-centric design culture, adapting to evolving needs, and championing Elements both internally and externally, interacting with vendors and business counterparts. Your ease of engaging with a variety of stakeholders (including engineering) will help you navigate your cross-functional journey and drive alignment towards achieving our collective goals.

At Sanofi, we’re committed to providing the next-gen healthcare solutions that patients and customers need. It’s about harnessing data insights and leveraging AI responsibly to search deeper and solve sooner than ever before. Join our CX Product Design Foundations team as a Product Design Lead and help make it happen.

Main responsibilities

Focus on Practitioner Needs – Use feedback and research to identify friction in how teams adopt and use Elements, turning insights into smoother workflows, better onboarding, and self-service resources that position Elements as essential in product strategy.

Co-own Governance in Practice – Partner with the Design System Lead to refine the governance model and bring it to life: contribution pipelines, intake processes, review rituals, and quality standards that teams can actually follow.

Improve the Adoption Experience – Streamline how practitioners discover, learn, and implement Elements patterns and components, helping products maximize their Return-On-Investment through faster, more confident adoption

Champion Consistency at Scale – Monitor adoption across the ecosystem, surface inconsistencies and unmet needs, and equip teams with the guidance to stay aligned — feeding what you learn back into the system.

Collaborate with Cross-functional Teams – Work closely with product owners, engineers, and stakeholders to bring ideas to life, ensure standards compliance, and continuously refine the relevance of the Elements experience.

Contribute to Community of Practice Growth – Elevate Sanofi Product Design Standards within operations through product design team training, mentoring, and community programs.

AI Enablement – Lead the AI practitioner experience for Product Designers, ensure AI workflows adhere to Responsible AI guidelines, and evolve the Sanofi governance model for how AI tools are used by both designers and non-designers.

About you

Experience in DesignOps or experience system enablement – Proven track record improving how design and product teams work: tooling, processes, documentation platforms, onboarding programs, and adoption metrics within complex environments.

Strategic Problem-Solving in Complex Systems – Experience navigating large global-scale, interconnected ecosystems, balancing user needs with company business goals to create holistic and scalable ways of working.

Leadership in Design Enablement – Proven experience mentoring and guiding transversal design teams, setting standards for ways of working, and driving UX excellence across a wide digital products spectrum.

Mastery of Iterative Design and Agile – Deep understanding of Lean UX, Human-Centered Design and Agile methodologies, ensuring continuous improvement, impactful design execution and implementation.

Mastery of Figma, Zeroheight and other UX/UI Tools – Advanced skills in Figma administration and workflow optimization, library distribution, and seamless collaboration with engineering teams. Experience with Figma tenant management and Zeroheight operations strongly valued.

Proven adaptability in fast context-shifting – Inspires and empowers product teams focusing on various ecosystems from Research & Development to Marketing, navigates complexity with clarity, and adapts to ambiguity with a problem-solving mindset.

Strong Communication and Stakeholder Management – Ability to translate and evangelize complex concepts into clear solutions, advocate for practitioner needs, and collaborate effectively with leadership, product teams, and engineers.
