Job Description

Career Conversion Programmes (CCPs) support mid-career new hires, existing employees or fresh graduates seeking to transition into growth job roles with good longer-term prospects through structured on-the-job training. The program is for 15 months with WSG and Sanofi.
 

Sanofi Manufacturing and Supply organization is preparing its future through an ambitious program named Modulus. The Modulus Project is at the cornerstone of Sanofi strategy as it aims at creating a new manufacturing concept consisting of a new generation of evolutive multi-product facilities, modular, adaptable and agile, leveraging new disruptive technologies, to better address vaccine business challenges as well as Specialty Care Biologics products. One of these two facilities is implemented in Singapore in a new Greenfield site, with a design identical to the one in Neuville (France). The facilities will also have highly digitalized and automated capabilities which is a key enabler for operations using technologies such as autonomous guided vehicles (AGVs), cobots and cloud systems.

About the Job
 

Having successfully completed commissioning and qualification, the Singapore facility is now in routine manufacturing operations. This role will have the title of Biotechnologist Trainee and will report to the Manufacturing Supervisor. The successful candidate will be part of the manufacturing operations shift team, contributing to steady-state production across Upstream, Downstream, and Central Manufacturing Services (CMS) processes in this state-of-the-art facility.
 

The candidate will have a routine operational role consisting of the following:

  • Execute routine cGMP manufacturing activities within the Upstream, Downstream, or CMS (Media & Buffer, Logistics) teams, in accordance with Process, Quality and Safety standards.
  • Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment, digital and automation systems in day-to-day production runs.
  • Perform general housekeeping of the manufacturing areas.
  • Maintain ongoing regulatory and audit readiness through consistent adherence to procedures and documentation standards.
  • Act as a key user of digital and automation applications and software supporting manufacturing systems such as ERP, MES, PCS, etc.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and optimization initiatives to enhance routine operational efficiency.
  • Support batch documentation, deviation reporting, and change control activities as part of routine operations.


Sanofi Modulus Singapore is hiring for Biotechnologist Trainee for the following teams:

  • Upstream Manufacturing Process
  • Downstream Manufacturing Process
  • Central Manufacturing Services (Media & Buffer, Logistics)
     

Main responsibilities:

  • Routine Manufacturing Operations: Perform day-to-day production activities within Upstream, Downstream, or CMS, ensuring compliance with process, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain and follow standard operating procedures, risk assessments, and training records for manufacturing equipment and systems.
  • Digital & Automation Systems: Operate and troubleshoot digital/automation tools integrated into daily manufacturing processes.
  • cGMP Manufacturing Execution: Support routine batch production, in-process checks, and quality documentation in line with cGMP standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and contribute to process optimization opportunities within the assigned Upstream, Downstream, or CMS area.
     

About You

  • NITEC/Diploma in an Engineering or Science discipline
  • Starting job grade of the role will be commensurate with the applicant’s highest education qualification and any other relevant experience.
  • Candidates with prior internships or industrial attachments in biopharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations would be advantageous.
  • Self-starter and independent worker who can operate and perform in cross functional teams.
  • Possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to problem solve and navigate through complexity and ambiguity.
  • Able to work in fast paced and dynamic conditions with tight timelines.
  • Good presentation and verbal communication skills who can adapt and tailor communication to various stakeholders.
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Team Player Biotechnologist will be working in a twelve-hour rotating shift pattern consisting of day and night shifts.
