The Position

The Opportunity

As our Business Support Specialist, you will act as an architect and orchestrator of our Deal Calculation processes. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the end-to-end offer, deal, and price calculation lifecycle, ensuring that complex laboratory solutions are translated into competitive, profitable, and compliant commercial proposals. By facilitating cross-functional collaboration and leveraging your mastery of global systems, you will directly contribute to the success of Roche Diagnostics’ tenders and quotes across different disease portfolios and product areas.

Please note that this is a CONTRACTOR/CONTINGENT POSITION. You will be employed by our 3rd party service provider.

You will work independently within broad guidelines, receiving minimal guidance while managing non-recurring, complex tender requests. By participating in high-level strategy sessions, you will bring your unique practice and knowledge to the table, directly affecting the quality and success rate of our critical affiliate tender activities.

  • Lead End-to-End Deal Orchestration: Drive the entire deal calculation process for high-complexity offers and tenders, ensuring all stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Technical Service, Finance, Supply Chain) are aligned and deadlines are met.

  • Generate Complex Financial Modeling: Independently create and evaluate sophisticated financial calculations for large-scale tenders to ensure optimal profitability and competitive market positioning.

  • Act as a Consultative Partner: Advisor to Sales and Marketing during the pre-tender phase, providing strategic insights on offer structures and pricing dynamics.

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert: Act as the local Key User and "Knowledge Anchor" for global, regional, and local deal calculation platforms, participating in international projects to shape Roche’s future commercial tools.

  • Ensure Quality and Compliance: Analyze multiple sources of information to ensure every commercial proposal is flawlessly accurate and adheres to the highest ethical and compliance standards.

  • Facilitate Consensus: Use tact and diplomacy to exchange sensitive information and build consensus among diverse cross-functional stakeholders during quote and tender preparations.

Who you are

  • Educational Background: Hold a BSc/MSc degree in Life Sciences, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

  • Laboratory Expertise: Mandatory experience working in a central hospital/clinical laboratory, or a solid background in molecular biology, medical microbiology, pathology, or alternative relevant laboratory fields.

  • Commercial Mastery & Systems Literacy: A proven track record in managing complex commercial processes alongside expert-level proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel and advanced analytical tools.

  • Analytical Problem Solving: Ability to solve complex problems, interpret large datasets, and bring a fresh perspective to existing commercial solutions.

  • Communication & Influence: Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to explain difficult or sensitive information effectively to internal and external partners.

  • Language Skills: Fluency in English and the local language is essential.
