Job Description

More than one million people in the United States today are fighting blood cancer. While a traditional allogeneic stem cell transplant has been the best hope for many, the transplant itself can prove fatal or lead to serious conditions, such as graft vs. host disease. Orca Bio is a late-stage biotechnology company redefining the transplant process by developing next-generation cell therapies with the goal of providing significantly better survival rates with dramatically fewer risks. With our purified, high-precision investigational cell therapies we hope to not only replace patients' blood and immune systems with healthy ones, but also restore their lives.

Position Summary: The Donor Services Program Manager owns Orca Bio’s relationships with domestic and international donor registries and is the primary architect of our donor services program. This externally facing, cross-functional role requires deep knowledge of the related and unrelated donor transplant ecosystem and the operational rigor to build and sustain a program at commercial scale. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in donor cell acquisition who has worked inside or alongside a donor registry and/or donor center.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary operational liaison to NMDP and other registry partners across clinical and commercial programs.

  • Manage the full domestic and international registry partnership lifecycle: onboarding, alignment, issue escalation, and business reviews.

  • Track and monitor registry, donor center, and apheresis center performance against service levels; identify and drive resolution of operational gaps.

  • Serve as the single point of contact internally and externally for issue reporting and resolution.

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve scalable donor cell acquisition processes supporting the commercial launch of Orca-T and Orca Bio's clinical programs, incorporating transplant center feedback and industry best practices.

  • Author SOPs, work instructions, and process maps.

  • Inform OrcaLink (clinical and commercial scheduling and coordination system) product requirements for donor request workflows, with emphasis on transplant center experience and legal/regulatory compliance.

  • Assess capacity constraints in apheresis and patient operations infrastructure across the transplant center and registry network and proactively engage partners on solutions.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • 7 years of professional experience with 5 years of direct experience in hematopoietic cell transplantation, unrelated donor coordination, or cell therapy operations with direct PBSC workflow exposure.

  • Direct experience working within a registry or donor center.

  • Working knowledge of donor search, workup, and collection.

  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory and accreditation requirements (WMDA, FDA 21 CFR, FACT).

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in multi-party, time-sensitive clinical or operational settings.

  • Customer service mentality.

The anticipated annual salary range for this job is based on prior experience in the role/industry, education, location, internal equity, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. For remote-based positions, this range may vary based on your local market. Full-time employment positions will also be eligible to receive pre-IPO equity and annual bonus, in addition to competitive medical, dental, and vision benefits, PTO, 401(k) plan, life and accidental death and disability coverage, and parental leave benefits. Other perks include subsidized daily lunches and snacks at our on-site locations.
