Human Resources Leader, IM Commercial Austria & Switzerland

Location: Austria, Vienna

Contract: Full Time, Hybrid

About the Role:

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Human Resources Leader, Austria & Switzerland, based in Austria or Switzerland.

As a member of the Austrian & Swiss Leadership Teams, the HR Leader serves as a strategic business partner, helping shape business strategy and organizational effectiveness through talent, leadership, culture, and organizational capabilities. The role drives people and organization outcomes across the commercial organizations and partners across the OneHR model to deliver integrated talent and organizational strategies. The HR Leader works closely with the Managing Directors and their leadership teams in both countries to ensure the organization is positioned to deliver sustainable growth, exceptional employee experiences, and strong business performance in a highly regulated and competitive healthcare environment. This includes leadership coaching, succession planning, organizational design, workforce planning, change management, and culture stewardship.  The HR Leader works closely together with his/her peers in the broader MSM HR Team and reports into the Head of HR Mid-Sized Markets.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Partnership & Strategy

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Austria and Switzerland Leadership Teams.
  • Translate business priorities into people and organization strategies.
  • Use business, talent, and organizational insights to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Partner with leaders on workforce planning, capability building, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Support annual business planning and long-range strategic planning through a talent and organization lens.

Talent Management & Succession

  • Lead the talent agenda across Austria and Switzerland commercial organizations.
  • Facilitate talent reviews, succession planning, and leadership development discussions.
  • Drive actions to strengthen diverse talent pipelines and critical capabilities.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to attract and retain high-caliber talent.
  • Support career development, mobility, and succession plans for critical leadership roles.

Leadership Coaching & Team Effectiveness

  • Provide coaching and guidance to the Managing Directors and their leadership teams.
  • Support leaders in strengthening leadership effectiveness and building high-performing teams.
  • Facilitate leadership team discussions and interventions that improve collaboration, accountability, and execution.
  • Coach managers through complex employee situations, organizational changes, and performance discussions.

Culture, Engagement & Inclusion

  • Shape and steward a culture aligned with Our Credo and the CEO Leadership Behaviors.
  • Drive employee engagement strategies informed by employee sentiment and organizational health insights.
  • Partner with business leaders to strengthen inclusion, wellbeing, collaboration, and performance culture.
  • Support local Credo-based initiatives and employee engagement activities.

Organizational Design & Change Leadership

  • Lead organizational design and restructuring initiatives where needed.
  • Partner with leaders to implement transformation and change programs.
  • Diagnose organizational challenges and recommend solutions that enhance effectiveness and adaptability.
  • Support integration, business model evolution, and capability-building initiatives.

Employee & Labor Relations

  • Partner with Employee Relations and Legal teams on employee matters.
  • Support consultations with employee representative bodies and works councils where applicable.
  • Guide leaders on policy interpretation and people-related risk management.

OneHR Leadership & Enterprise Partnership

  • Collaborate across the OneHR model to deliver seamless HR support.
  • Act as a role model for enterprise thinking and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Support implementation of global and regional HR priorities within Austria and Switzerland.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Advanced degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Organizational Development, or related field preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 6+ years of professional experience with significant HR Business Partnering experience.
  • Experience supporting senior commercial or business leaders.
  • Strong track record in talent management, succession planning, leadership coaching, organizational design, and change management.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive business outcomes through people strategies.

Additional Requirements

  • Fluency in German and English required.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

€90,500.00 - €156,745.00

 

 

Benefits:

In addition to base pay, we offer the following benefits*: an annual bonus with set target (% of pay) depending on pay grade / location, where the actual amount is based on the employees’ and companies’ performance of the previous calendar year, or sales commissions. Moreover, we offer vacation days, parental leave for a minimum of 12 weeks, bereavement leave, caregiver leave, volunteer leave, well-being reimbursement, programs for financial, physical and mental health. We also offer service anniversary and recognition awards, and subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees - and in some location’s eligible dependents - can participate in several insurance plans.
