Job Description

Key responsibilities

  • Define and lead the country medical strategy for the Prostate Cancer disease area, translating international medical plans into robust local strategies across pre-launch, launch, and lifecycle management.

  • Act as the country disease area scientific expert, providing guidance and strategic input to internal stakeholders across Medical, Commercial, Value & Access, Regulatory, and Execution Excellence.

  • Set and oversee the local evidence generation strategy, including RWE, HEOR inputs, Phase IV/IIIb activities, and aligned publication planning.

  • Lead high-quality, compliant peer-to-peer scientific engagement with healthcare professionals and medical experts.

  • Oversee and guide MSL strategy and field medical engagement plans to ensure alignment with disease area priorities.

  • Design and deliver the country medical education strategy, including scientific events, symposia, hospital meetings, and congress activities.

  • Ensure systematic external insight generation and translate insights into strategic recommendations supporting medical and cross-functional decision making.

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with medical experts, scientific societies, and academic institutions, acting as a credible scientific ambassador.

  • Ensure excellence in execution through governance, budget oversight, timeline management, and full compliance with ERC, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead, develop, and inspire the Prostate Cancer medical organization, fostering a high-performance culture, succession planning, and continuous capability development.

Essential Requirements

  • Advanced scientific degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent); fluent English and Spanish required.

  • 5–7+ years of experience in Medical Affairs and/or Clinical Development, ideally within Oncology or Urology.

  • Demonstrated track record of developing and executing medical strategies across the product lifecycle.

  • Proven leadership experience guiding medical or field medical teams.

  • Strong expertise in scientific engagement, evidence generation, and publication planning.

  • Experience leading medical education programs, congress activities, and external scientific events.

  • Proven cross-functional collaboration with Market Access, Regulatory, Marketing, and Commercial teams.

  • Strategic, influential leader with strong scientific credibility, high integrity, and a patient-centric mindset.

Expected Annual Base Salary Range for role: 

  • €93,800.00 - €174,200.00

 

The salary offered is determined based on gender-neutral objectives, such as relevant skills, competencies and experience in accordance with the Novartis pay setting policy and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically.  

 

In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for a performance-based bonus depending on certain performance parameters. Further details will be provided during the application process.
