Scope:
• Perform bioinformatics tasks to identify, design and/or optimize protein-based prophylactic or therapeutic candidates (antigen vaccine candidates, monoclonal antibodies, …)
• Perform customized, state-of-the-art bioinformatics analyses and interpret results in support of transversal GVGH research activities, such as complex pathogen sequence analyses
In this role, You will:
Responsible for the design of protein-based vaccine antigens by performing literature reviews, complex bioinformatics analyses, and structural prediction and analysis;
Responsible for providing expert input into the analysis and interpretation of experimental results related to protein engineering, production, and purification, together with molecular biology and chemist experts;
Responsible for proactively identifying, developing, and implementing innovative computational technologies related to the job purpose (e.g., writing scripts, optimizing and developing digital tools, and implementing software and digital packages from external sources)
Support overall digital innovation within GVGH;
Provide scientific support to the whole GVGH community for all computational biology-related analyses, including complex/big data analysis;
Responsible for developing scientific reports related to the job purposes and providing support for the development of IP and regulatory submission files;
May coordinate or manage students, scientists, and technicians involved in job-related activities;
Ensure the highest ethical standards, good scientific practices and data integrity are implemented in daily work activities, as well as timely data collection and reporting in the area of responsibility;
Why You?
Basic Qualifications
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
Ph.D. or equivalent experience in Bioinformatics, Computational Structural Biology, data science, Engineering, Genetics, or a similar discipline with a strong focus on analysis and biological interpretation of bioinformatics data.
3+ years of work experience in a similar role;
Genome, gene, and protein sequence analysis and annotation; integration of theoretical and experimental data to support gene expression optimization;
Protein structure prediction, design and analysis;
Proficient in the use of bioinformatics and protein structure computational tools (such as AlphaFold, PyMOL, Chimera, MOE, Schrödinger, Rosetta,..) to support the identification, design and optimization of protein antigens
Proficient in the use of molecular dynamics tools such as AMBER or equivalent softwares;
Proficient in scripting and programming in languages such as those of Python, Perl, or R to develop and implement analysis pipelines or optimize available tools;
Fluent English (both written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications & Soft Skills

Experience with complex/big data analysis would be a plus;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work in complex matrix organizations and effectively collaborate with internal GVGH/GSK as well as external partners;
Fluency in English is a must & fluency in Italian would be a plus.
