The Advanced Therapies Pilot Plant (ATP) in Leiden produces clinical trial material for advanced therapies, a novel class of medical products that uses cell and gene therapies to treat diseases and have the potential to cure diseases when no treatment is available. It's a very exciting field, as no established manufacturing platforms exist for these products, which means that new processes need to be developed to ensure efficient production of high-quality GMP material!

The ATP is a very active pilot plant, with 3 full GMP productions streets, making 5 different product types, and a 4th street with a Drug product fill line being created - making it a true end-to-end pilot plant! The ATP teams also work in close collaboration with the process development teams to enable the fast delivery of the products for clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Writing and/or reviewing the GMP process documentation (SOPs, work instructions, batch records, etc.) required to perform the process in GMP.
• Doing water runs and training runs to ensure you’re ready to perform production.

Perform aseptic processing in a GMP environment, including

• Ensuring production areas, materials and equipment are all ready for production activities.
• Performing engineering and GMP production runs according to protocols or SOPs, including accurately recording all process, equipment and material data.
• Performing airflow visualization and aseptic processing simulation runs
• Proactively identify and work on resolving problems that occur in production.
• Investigating deviations.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• BSc, MBO (level 4) or HBO degree, or equivalent in the field of Microbiology/Life Sciences/Engineering
• Experience working in the Pharma/biotech industry experience is a plus.
• Experience in bioprocess development or GMP production, specifically with aseptic processing on a filling line
• Good understanding of GMP manufacturing and the requirements for Annex 1
• Strong connect and teamwork skills
• Strong communication skills in English

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

€38,300.00 - €61,410.00
