Role Description

Amgen is seeking a Sr. Associate Software Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and deployment of Revenue Management ecosystem. The role focuses on development and monitoring of AWS RedShift, AWS Administration, Veracode Management, Gitlab Pipeline & CI/CD Workflows Management, Databricks workspace Management, and Databricks development.

This position will involve hands-on development across technologies, building interfaces, ensuring compliance with security best practices, RedShift Serverless data and deploying cloud-native solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with product owners, architects, and agile teams to deliver high-quality solutions that enhance customer experience and safeguard data. 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Possesses strong rapid prototyping skills and can quickly translate concepts into working code

  • Manage AWS roles for our project team.

  • Veracode configuration and access management, set up and configuring Veracode for Revenue Management application security scanning, manage access permissions for various applications, and add new applications to Veracode for continuous monitoring.

  • Onboard new members and defining their roles within Veracode and provide efficient Veracode management.

  • Manage Nimbus teams and ensuring proper team structure, add new members to Nimbus Teams and assign relevant roles.

  • Setup GitLab repositories for projects and configure GitLab pipelines to streamline CI/CD workflows.

  • Databricks workspace administration, setup and maintain Databricks workspaces, manage user access and permissions for various teams, identifying and resolving access-related issues.

  • Ensure smooth integration of Databricks with other platforms.

  • Databricks hands on development, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.

  • Contribute to both front-end and back-end development using cloud technology.

  • Develop innovative solution using generative AI technologies.

  • Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.

  • Create and maintain documentation on software architecture, design, deployment, disaster recovery, and operations.

  • Identify and resolve technical challenges effectively.

  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements.

  • Work closely with product team, business team, and other stakeholders.

  • Design, develop, and implement applications and modules, including interfaces, and enhancements.

  • Analyze and understand the functional and technical requirements of applications, solutions and systems and translate them into software design specifications.

  • Develop and execute unit tests and integration tests to ensure the quality of the software.

  • Identify and resolve software bugs and performance issues.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and QA, to deliver high-quality software on time.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of software designs, code, and development processes.

  • Work on integrating with other systems and platforms to ensure seamless data flow and functionality.

  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for applications, ensuring that they operate smoothly and efficiently

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Bachelor's degree and 5 to 9 years of Computer Science, IT or related field experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Must-Have Skills:

  • Strong understanding of AWS cloud platforms.

  • Hands on experience with Gitap pipeline and CI/CD workflows, Veracode.

  • Hands on experience with Databricks.

  • Hands on experience with Full Stack software development. Proficient in programming language Python (preferred), JavaScript, SQL/NoSQL.

  • Strong problem solving, analytical skills; ability to learn quickly.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experienced with API integration, serverless, microservices architecture.

  • Experience in process automation.

  • Hands on experience with Agile practice.

  • Strong understanding and experience in AWS environment.

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk).

  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (preferred).

  • Databricks Certificates.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams.

  • High degree of initiative and self-motivation.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully.
