Role Description

The Staff Software Engineer will work cross functionally with the Computational Biology, Assay, Manufacturing and Commercial teams to define and develop the software pipeline for our custom panel design and manufacturing process. They will work full stack to develop a customer-facing website and the backend services to run and manage the panel design pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute full software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Lead custom panel pipeline development and coordinate with Computational Biology to integrate panel design algorithms.
  • Work with UX team to design and develop a customer portal that manages the custom panel design / ordering process ensuring ease of use while maintaining a secure environment.
  • Work with Software Quality Assurance and Verification teams to test / verify all software releases.
  • Develop backend services to orchestrate Computational Biology pipelines.
  • Design / implement database schema to manage the custom panel design workflow.
  • Work closely with the Instrument Control Software team to ensure that panels are compatible with instrument software.
  • Work with manufacturing team to integrate barcode scanning & label printing into the workflow.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related.
  • 12+ years of experience as a Staff Software Engineer developing across web, database, cloud and service layer.
  • Demonstrated experience leading the design / development of complex systems, beginning to end.
  • Demonstrated experience developing customer-facing web applications that are scalable and secure.
  • Strong C# skills are a must with broad experience in the .NET ecosystem (Blazor, WPF, ADO.NET, MS SQL Server). Python and R experience are a plus.
  • Experience designing schemas, writing queries and stored procedures using SQL Server and SQLite platforms.
  • At least 4 years of experience with cloud application (Azure, AWS, Google) development: web API services, database access layer, Web UI development.
  • Experience in developing & deploying Docker containers in a production environment.
  • Experience in Azure DevOps with Git.
  • Strong plus for prior experience with Bioinformatics Pipelines.
