The Position

Technical Product Owner - Digital Health Platform, Secure Cloud

Roche Digital Technology (RDT) is where innovation meets purpose. As a global team at the heart of Roche, we are a community of business-minded technologists committed to help shape tomorrow’s digital future of healthcare. Our mission is to power Roche through cutting-edge digital technologies, harnessing the potential of artificial intelligence, data, and scalable tech innovations. Driven by purpose and passion, we’re building a future where digital is a core strength across all of Roche, enabling smarter ways of working, unlocking human potential, and driving breakthroughs that truly matter for millions of patients around the world.

At Roche, we offer a hybrid work model that combines flexibility with in-person collaboration. For now, we require our employees to be in our offices on average two days per week. The specific office days may vary depending on business needs, such as workshops, conferences, town halls, team meetings, and other collaborative events.

Roche’s expanding digital product portfolio demonstrates its commitment to provide healthcare professionals, laboratories, and patients with digital and digitally-enabled solutions that transform patient care. The existing product portfolio includes decision support systems, data management solutions, and workflow solutions. At the center of these diverse types of solutions is always patient data security and privacy as the highest priority for Roche.

In this context, Roche has built a global team that builds, secures, and operates infrastructure platforms (cloud and on-prem) for its digital products. This team is working with a high freedom to operate in a self-organized setup and is responsible for tackling the cybersecurity, compliance, and infrastructure challenges of the healthcare industry while enabling high-velocity product development.

The opportunity:

The Technical Product Owner will join the Secure Account Management (SAM) team - responsible for cloud infrastructure, account provisioning, security, and governance across Roche's digital product portfolio. The team manages 650+ AWS accounts and enables application teams to build and operate healthcare solutions by providing secure, standardized infrastructure while maintaining development and deployment autonomy.

This role sits at the intersection of product thinking and cloud engineering. You will own the product roadmap and backlog for SAM's cloud and services portfolio, translating the needs of digital health product teams into a platform that is secure, self-service, and well-documented. The platform delivers compliant AWS landing zones integrated with a modern cybersecurity backbone, providing guardrails for hosted applications across AWS regions worldwide - and is evolving toward supporting external partners and third-party consumers.

What you will do:

  • Own, prioritise, and communicate the product roadmap for SAM's cloud landing zone and associated services - balancing security, compliance, developer experience, and self-service.

  • Act as the voice of platform customers (internal product teams and, increasingly, external partners): gather feedback, represent the platform in PI planning sessions, and maintain transparency on request lifecycle and prioritisation decisions.

  • Drive platform evolution toward self-service and automation - reducing manual ticket-based workflows in favour of programmatic access, Infrastructure-as-Code, and API-first interfaces.

  • Own the developer experience and documentation lifecycle: ensuring that services are user centric, documented accurately, making sure that docs ship alongside features

  • Define and communicate change management practices: deprecation timelines, backwards-compatibility commitments, and migration support for breaking changes.

  • Define and track success metrics - platform adoption, onboarding time, self-service coverage, incident response, and customer satisfaction - to drive product decisions with data.

  • Closely collaborate with security, compliance, and architecture teams to ensure platform capabilities meet regulatory requirements (HIPAA, ISO 27001, GDPR, design controls) without creating unnecessary friction for consumers.

  • Contribute to the strategy for extending cloud services to external partners and third parties, including governance models, security boundaries, and onboarding automation.

Who you are:

  • Total minimum 8 years of experience in IT split between

  • Product Leadership experience, minimum 4 years:

    • Experience with software product management or product ownership, ideally in a platform or infrastructure context.

    • Demonstrated ability to prioritise competing demands across multiple stakeholder teams and align them toward common goals and delivery timelines.

    • Strong written and verbal communication in English - you can explain complex platform changes to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.

    • Experience facilitating technical discussions spanning DevOps, cloud security, and compliance topics.

    • Experience with software development lifecycle, and the ability to actively work on cross-functional teams with both technical and non-technical team members.

    • Consulting, negotiation, and influencing skills - you represent the platform's constraints while genuinely understanding customer pain.

    • Experience with agile principles including Kanban and Scrum; comfort with backlog management and sprint/flow-based delivery.

    • Track record of improving developer experience, documentation quality, or self-service capabilities in a platform or infrastructure team.

  • Technical Experience, minimum 4 years

    • Hands-on experience with AWS - you can read and modify a Terraform module, understand an IAM policy, and assess the impact of a security control without needing it translated.

    • Working knowledge of AWS Organizations, IAM, Identity Center, and cloud security services.

    • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tooling (Terraform / Terragrunt) and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).

    • Understanding of DevSecOps practices and how security integrates into the development lifecycle.

    • Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure with medium to large global enterprises with global geographical topologies.

    • Previous experience as a cloud engineer, DevOps engineer, SRE, architect, or technical lead - you have been the builder before becoming the product thinker.

  • Nice to have:

    • Good understanding of compliance topics such as information security and design control is a strong plus. Preferably experience with the healthcare sector including regulations and controls such as HIPAA, HITRUST, ISO 27001, GDPR, etc.

    • AWS Certifications (Developer, Solution Architect [Associate / Professional], SysOps)

    • Experience designing or operating multi-tenant platforms serving diverse consumer teams.

    • Familiarity with observability tooling (Grafana, Prometheus) and incident management practices.

    • Experience with platform onboarding automation or internal developer portals.

What you get:

  • Salary range xx-xx PLN gross based on the employment contract.

  • Annual bonus payment based on your performance.

  • Dedicated training budget (training, certifications, conferences, diversified career paths etc.).

  • Recharge Fridays (2 Fridays off per quarter available).

  • Vacation subsidy available.

  • Flex Location (possibility to perform our work from different places in the world for a certain period of time).

  • Take Time for Charity (additional paid leave of maximum 2 weeks to engage in the charity action of your choice).

  • Private healthcare (LuxMed packages), group life insurance (UNUM) and Multisport.

  • Stock share purchase additions.

  • Yearly sales of company laptops and cars and many more!
