User Experience (UX) Designer
Join our Roche Pharma R&D product environment where you will be working on digital tools that support complex scientific, clinical, or operational workflows. The work requires structured thinking, attention to detail, collaboration with product and engineering teams, and the ability to design for users working with complex information, data, and regulated processes.
The UX Professional is a developing User Experience Designer who contributes to product teams by supporting research, design exploration, prototyping, and validation activities. In this role, you will work on defined product areas, translate user and stakeholder needs into clear design artifacts, and gradually take ownership of smaller design problems under guidance from more experienced UX professionals. You will contribute to wireframes, prototypes, user flows, journey maps, and usability testing activities, while learning how to explain design decisions, evaluate alternatives, and use evidence to improve the user experience.
This role is suited for someone with foundational UX skills, curiosity about complex digital products, and the ability to learn quickly in a multidisciplinary environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct user research, usability testing, design discovery, and design execution activities under guidance.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, user flows, journey maps, and interface specifications for defined features or product areas.
- Explore multiple design solutions for clearly defined design problems and help evaluate their strengths, limitations, and trade-offs.
- Use the Roche / R Design System to build consistent, accessible, and scalable interface solutions.
- Support design documentation by capturing key decisions, assumptions, open questions, and user needs.
Accountability / Problem Solving
- Work with increasing autonomy on smaller UX deliverables and clearly scoped product areas.
- Translate user needs, stakeholder input, and product requirements into structured design artifacts.
- Identify assumptions, information gaps, and potential usability risks in proposed solutions.
- Communicate design rationale through mockups, prototypes, flows, and concise written explanations.
- Understand when design work should be validated through research, usability testing, user feedback, or design critique.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, business stakeholders, researchers, and other designers.
- Ask clarifying questions to understand better user needs, business goals, technical constraints, and product priorities.
- Present design work clearly and receive feedback constructively.
- Support alignment by making design decisions visible through clear artifacts and documentation.
Impact / Strategy
- Contribute to the foundational design work of product initiatives by creating clear, usable, and consistent design outputs.
- Help the team move from ambiguity toward structured design options.
- Support better product decisions by bringing user perspective, usability considerations, and design evidence into team discussions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of UX practices, reusable patterns, and design system adoption.
Complexity
- Work primarily on individual features, flows, foundational components, or clearly scoped product areas.
- Learn to handle increasing product complexity, including data-heavy interfaces, scientific workflows, and cross-functional constraints.
Business / Technical Ability
- Maintain a foundational understanding of core UX methods, including usability testing, wireframing, prototyping, user journey mapping, and basic research synthesis.
- Demonstrate practical proficiency in Figma, including components, variants, styles, prototyping, and collaboration features.
- Use the Roche / R Design System effectively for components, patterns, and visual consistency.
- Use AI-enabled tools responsibly to support design exploration, synthesis, documentation, critique, and prototyping, while applying critical judgment and respecting confidentiality, data protection, and company guidance.
- Build awareness of accessibility, usability heuristics, and inclusive design principles.
Who you are:
- You hold degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience / training in UX or UI design.
- You have early-career experience or a foundational portfolio demonstrating understanding of the UX design process.
- You have experience creating wireframes, prototypes, user flows, or other UX artifacts.
- You demonstrate experience working with feedback, iteration, and design critique.
- You have interest in complex digital products, healthcare, life sciences, scientific workflows, or enterprise software is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Practical proficiency in Figma.
- Familiarity with design systems and component-based design.
- Familiarity with core UX methods: usability testing, wireframing, prototyping, journey mapping, and research synthesis.
- Basic understanding of accessibility and inclusive design.
- Ability to use AI tools responsibly as part of the design workflow, for example, for ideation, summarization, design critique, documentation, or prototype acceleration.
Preferred Qualifications
- You have ability to explain design rationale using concrete examples, artifacts, and user-centered reasoning with Collaborative mindset and willingness to work with product, engineering, business, and design colleagues.
- Structured thinking and ability to break down ambiguous problems into manageable parts.
- Curiosity, learning mindset, and willingness to ask questions in unfamiliar domains.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency across design outputs.

Compensation & Benefits
The expected salary range for this position, based on the primary location of Warsaw Grafit is 121,800.00 PLN - 226,200.00 PLN. Final compensation will be determined by a number of factors, including your skills, experience, qualifications, and location. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus with a target of 12% subject to both individual and company performance.
