Job Description

Position Summary You will lead and inspire the Country Medical function in China. You will work with colleagues across Medical, R&D, Regulatory, Commercial and external stakeholders. Your leadership will shape medical strategy, evidence generation and medical governance. We value a patient focus, clear decision-making, collaboration and coaching. Responsibilities This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following: - Lead and develop the China Medical team, including Medical Affairs, Medical Information, Pharmacovigilance and medical governance functions. - Build and deliver medical strategies and evidence plans that support country priorities and inform regulatory and payer engagement. - Ensure high standards for patient safety, clinical governance and pharmacovigilance across all medical activities. - Partner with commercial, regulatory, clinical operations and global colleagues to translate scientific insights into local action. - Oversee medical budgets, resource planning and performance metrics for the country Medical function. - Represent Medical in the country leadership team and act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders. Why You? Working model: This role is based in China and is on-site with hybrid flexibility as agreed with the hiring manager. Expect regular time in the office and travel across China and regionally. Basic Qualification We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals - Advanced medical degree (MD preferred) or equivalent clinical or scientific doctoral qualification. - Significant experience in pharmaceutical industry medical leadership, including medical affairs and clinical research exposure. - Proven track record in leading and coaching multi-disciplinary teams and developing talent. - Demonstrable experience in medical governance, pharmacovigilance and medical information oversight. - Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience partnering across Commercial, Regulatory and R&D functions. - Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese, with experience engaging external experts and health authorities. Preferred Qualification If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus - Experience as a Country Medical Director or VP Medical in China or Greater China. - Experience in oncology, specialty care or vaccines therapeutic areas. - Track record in evidence generation and oversight of investigator-led or collaborative studies. - Experience managing complex budgets and resource planning in a matrix organisation. - Prior interaction with regional or global Medical and R&D teams on strategy and clinical programs. - Familiarity with local regulatory and healthcare system dynamics in China.
