Job Description:

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Senior Director, GBS Strategy & Business Development, based in Bogotá, Colombia.

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate its Orthopedics business to establish DePuy Synthes as a standalone company. The planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, regulatory approvals, and other customary conditions. Following the transaction, the successful candidate is expected to become an employee of DePuy Synthes and transition to its employment programs, policies, and benefit plans. Additional details will be provided at the appropriate time and remain subject to required consultation processes.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Head of Global Business Services (GBS), this role will drive the continued evolution and expansion of GBS as a strategic enterprise partner.

The Senior Director will identify new opportunities to grow the GBS portfolio, expand services, and create enterprise value through process simplification, standardization, automation, digital innovation, and operating model transformation. Working across functions, regions, and markets, this leader will assess work that could be delivered more effectively through GBS and develop compelling business cases to bring those opportunities to life.

This is a highly visible individual contributor role that combines strategy, business development, consulting, and transformation leadership. Success requires strong commercial acumen, enterprise thinking, executive influence, and the ability to convert ideas into scalable capabilities that deliver measurable business outcomes. The role has no direct people management responsibilities.

ROLE MANDATE | Identify, shape, and secure the next generation of GBS services and capabilities that accelerate enterprise performance and create sustainable value.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a multi-year growth roadmap for GBS, identifying opportunities to expand service offerings, capabilities, and enterprise impact.
• Build and manage a qualified pipeline of high-value opportunities aligned with enterprise priorities and evolving business needs.
• Build executive-level relationships across functions, regions, and markets to understand business challenges and position GBS as a strategic solution partner.
• Assess work not currently performed within GBS to determine how it can be simplified, standardized, automated, centralized, or delivered through the optimal global location and delivery model.
• Create demand for new GBS services through data-driven insights, external benchmarking, market trends, and innovative solution design.
• Develop compelling executive-level business cases that define investment requirements, financial value, service outcomes, risks, implementation plans, and value-realization measures.
• Design scalable future-state operating models, including process ownership, governance, technology, talent, location, and service delivery requirements.
• Secure executive sponsorship and organizational commitment for new or expanded GBS capabilities.
• Lead priority opportunities from discovery and solution design through implementation, adoption, and value realization.
• Partner with Digital, IT, and functional leaders to incubate and scale new enterprise capabilities using artificial intelligence, automation, analytics, and other digital technologies.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, market developments, and leading GBS practices to identify opportunities for competitive advantage and differentiated service solutions.
• Advise the Head of GBS on portfolio growth, investment priorities, external trends, delivery network strategy, and emerging opportunities.
• Establish clear success measures and track whether new capabilities deliver the intended financial, operational, customer, and strategic outcomes.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree required in business, engineering, operations, finance, or a related field.
• MBA or other advanced degree preferred.

Required Experience and Skills

• 12+ years of experience in enterprise strategy, business development, management consulting, GBS, shared services, transformation, or operating model design.
• Proven success identifying, shaping, securing sponsorship for, and implementing complex growth, transformation, or capability-building opportunities.
• Experience leading business development, portfolio expansion, capability incubation, or enterprise growth initiatives.
• Strong experience developing executive-level business cases, financial models, investment proposals, and value-realization plans.
• Experience translating enterprise challenges into scalable service solutions and measurable business value.
• Experience evaluating and executing centralization, offshoring, outsourcing, location strategy, global delivery, or shared services opportunities.
• Ability to connect enterprise strategy to practical operating model, process, technology, talent, governance, and service delivery solutions.
• Exceptional executive communication, facilitation, and influencing skills, with the ability to create demand, build alignment, and drive action without direct authority.
• Demonstrated use of artificial intelligence, automation, analytics, digital technologies, or process redesign to deliver measurable outcomes.
• Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and move opportunities from insight and concept through decision, execution, and value realization.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in GBS, shared services, management consulting, corporate strategy, business development, or enterprise transformation.
• Healthcare, MedTech, life sciences, or another highly regulated industry.
• Experience launching new service lines, centers of excellence, enterprise capabilities, or global delivery models.
• Experience influencing senior executives to adopt new operating models or service delivery approaches.
• Experience with global location strategy, delivery network design, and workforce optimization.

• A qualified pipeline of new GBS opportunities with clear enterprise value, strategic alignment, and executive sponsorship.
• Growth of the GBS service portfolio and its impact across the enterprise.
• Approved business cases and successful launch, adoption, and scaling of new or expanded GBS capabilities.
• Measurable financial, productivity, service, customer, and strategic outcomes from implemented opportunities.
• Increased use of artificial intelligence, automation, analytics, and digital solutions across the GBS portfolio.
• GBS is recognized as a trusted strategic partner, growth enabler, and innovation engine for the enterprise.
